thanks again all for your support,

I dont think its broken, they did do cheast xray and saw not a lot,

the tramadol is really helping, I cant do a great deal but its enough to be able to a bit of cooking, with hubby lifting dishes etc,

if it gets worse I will def see doc a bit sooner, but wanted to hold out for my gp as the on call get a bit "dont know what to do" but my gp knows all about me and isnst scared to shake things up a bit,

hope you are all ok, Ellie

I bet there's not an ounce of sympathy in that remark! I never seem to elicit any concern! Smile

Hi Ellie i get this alot and its worse when i'm having a flare up. Rest and pain killers seem to help. I can't wear under wired bras as they are too uncomfortable because of it.

Oh Stewart - how could you even THINK that our concern is not 100% genuine. You've had a broken leg and two cracked ribs, poor soul.

Well all,
the plot thickens, went to gp yesterday as was fed up with the pain and she does not know what to do with me....no erosions of ra type on chest xray and no fluid on lungs...

she can see that I am in obvious pain and thankgod and has decided to prescribe clarithramycin/antibiotic for a chest infection!!!

Please god these work, I cant bear the pain much longer and I am no whimp....was walking around and working on a partially dislocated hip for weeks before diagnosis a few years back.....

have been quite a bit chesty overnight with developing cough, maybe antibiotics are making a dent...

luv to all Ellie

Hi Ellie, very sorry to hear that you're in so much pain with your ribs. I've not had RA for long, but agree it is a very strange and indeed a nasty disease and one I'm learning more about everyday.

Do hope your chest infection clears up soon,

Take Care,

Love,

Barbara

Aw take care Ellie and I hope the a-bs work soon.

I used to think that with pregnancy- how high my pain threshold was etc and then my hip went! I tell you, I would have preferred to have delivered all five babies at the same time! LOLOL

Hi Ellie,

Hope you're feeling better by now. I have pleurisy as a consequence of the RA and I find that my shoulders flare up in direct correlation to flare-ups in the pleurisy. I saw a lung consultant about eighteen months ago who in the end concluded that the pleurisy could only be treated in conjunction with the RA so not much to do about it. If it's any consolation, I find it does get better with warmer weather. Another reason to look forward to the spring!

This sounds awful, Joanna. Do you have many flare ups of the pleurisy? I've had it just once, and can still remember how painful it was.

Take care in this cold weather.

Love Jeanxxx
